Is Twitter going down?

It’s true that in the past few years Twitter is not doing very good. The number of followers is dropping down constantly and Twitter does not seem to handle this bad situation. Recently a news surfaced that a leading actor has warned Twitter to delete his Twitter account due to constant lost of followers which come down from 33 million to 32.9 and still falling. If this happens to continue and millions-follower celebrities are going to leave this microblogging platform then the day is not very far when Twitter will actually shut down.
This blue bird started chirping in 2006 and dreamt to go higher but could not counter the bad situation successfully till yet.

It actually has lost millions of followers:

Reports showed that from 2013 to 2017 in the U.S, Twitter was not used by the businesses as much for marketing campaigns compared to other social media sites like Facebook or Instagram. The statistics revealed that in 2017, Facebook goes up to 85%, Instagram to 70% and Twitter only to 67%.

What is missing?

  • Lack of personalization:

Brands are getting more humanized and interact with the customers to strengthen the relationship with its customers. In the crowded market space, the brand with distinct and offers a great level of personalization at each point of customer interaction is winning the game.
Social media platforms have personalized the experience for target audience through short video contents but Twitter again is not keeping the pace with others.

  • No stories or any appreciable video content:

The most popular feature of Instagram is the stories that are providing an opportunity for fun, entertainment and close communication of people with each other. Stories are shared which are not too long to watch but still delivers the best way of interaction.
Likewise, Facebook has introduced a new feature of live videos which is gaining new heights of popularity all around the globe.
Last year Twitter announced to introduce video ads but there are no updates about the launching of that feature. It is trying to improve the platform with different features like GIF search feature, changing of the offline screens to make it more enticing to the logged out users and an algorithmic timeline that shows the most interesting posts first to its users.

  • Chatbot assistance is not up to the mark:

With the involvement of artificial intelligence in many industries, the use of chatbots is now prevailing for customer care. Most of the businesses especially e-stores are providing quality and personalized experience by responding the queries of the customers through chatbots.
On the other hand, social media sites are also growing by introducing such features but Twitter has not succeeded in fulfilling the requirements of its users.
Let's hope well for the Twitter!

Another year, another set of challenges: is it make or break for the PR industry in 2018?

2017 has been a big year for the PR industry. Not only did we witness myriad crises, campaigns and the odd fall from grace, but a number of new trends also emerged. Live-stream video, for example, grew in popularity as did the use of influencers to drive engagement. 2018 looks — at least on paper — like an unprecedentedly good setup for the PR and marketing industry. But behind the scenes, the industry appears shockingly vulnerable. Micro moments Information can be accessed faster and faster with the use of smartphone applications, notifications, and social media. According to Huffington Post, 55 per cent of the time people use their smartphones, they do so in short bursts of 30 seconds or less.
