Advantages and Disadvantages of LinkdIn Marketing

What professionals and experts say about LinkedIn marketing? We add some of the best reviews of renown marketers in this blog for your information.

1- Head of Strategy And Income Generation at Purple Frog:

“Easy to use, effective but a bit pricey so consider carefully”.
                                                                                         Stephanie Reed

Pros:

  • Targeting and segmenting - target only relevant people
  • Ease of use - very easy to learn and use
  • Tracking and analysis - we can understand ROI and effectiveness of the ads

Cons:

  • Cost! It costs a lot more than PPC and every lead we get is very expensive, so you should make your considerations well

2- Search Engine Marketing Analyst at Traffic Digital Agency:

        “Best platform for B2B marketer”.
                                    Vincent Misiewicz

Pros:

  • Robust breakout of targeting options.
  • Ease of use & setup.
  • Reach pre-qualified audiences that may not be actively searching for your products.

Cons:

  • Cannot use day-parting within the interface, would need to use 3rd party software such as AdStage, which is additional costs.
  • Comparatively higher CPCs than search or alternative channels such as Facebook, not crazy about minimum bids.
  • Not aware of any re-marketing options or further audience targeting.

3- Digital Marketing Manager at Provenir:

“Spend less time running successful campaigns”.
                                                                        Cheryl Cross

Pros:

  • The tool is easy to use.
  • The support available is useful.
  • Built-in testing makes it easy to experiment with different content.

Cons:

  • Targeting isn't great. With all the information LinkedIn has about its users I feel as though the targeting can be much better.
  • Clicks are very expensive causing spending to be much higher than Google AdWords. If the targeting was better it would help to decrease wasted clicks that you see when you have more general type targeting.
  • Hard to track conversions within the tool.

4- Communications Specialist at Oregon Patient Safety Commission:

          “Great as event promoter”.
                                Nicole Staudinger

Pros:

  • Audience targeting
  • Explanation of budgeting options
  • Discount codes

Cons:

  • Confusing user interface
  • Difficulty in reviewing/renewing campaigns
  • Hard to find/understand billing process

5- Inbound Marketing Executive Strategic Internet Consulting:

      “Great lead generation channel”.
                                   Gerry Dapergolas

Pros:

  • Be really specific with your targeting - target specific job titles, companies, seniority etc.
  • Easy to use platform - anyone can start an ads campaign within minutes (provided that you have your content assets ready).
  • The analytics you get for your ad campaigns are really helpful and linkedin also often sends you optimising tips.

 Cons:

  • Lack of support. The only way to contact LinkedIn is by submitting a ticket and sometimes LinkedIn takes days to get back to you.
  • Some limitations with your targeting. You can only target up to 100 companies with each campaign (if you choose to target by company) and you have to have at least 1,000 audience.
  • PPC can be quite expensive.

Another year, another set of challenges: is it make or break for the PR industry in 2018?

2017 has been a big year for the PR industry. Not only did we witness myriad crises, campaigns and the odd fall from grace, but a number of new trends also emerged. Live-stream video, for example, grew in popularity as did the use of influencers to drive engagement. 2018 looks — at least on paper — like an unprecedentedly good setup for the PR and marketing industry. But behind the scenes, the industry appears shockingly vulnerable. Micro moments Information can be accessed faster and faster with the use of smartphone applications, notifications, and social media. According to Huffington Post, 55 per cent of the time people use their smartphones, they do so in short bursts of 30 seconds or less. Look at how US President Donald Trump communicates with his millions of followers. Bite size sound bites are what he does best, even if the content isn’t exactly worth reading. But he grabs the attention of his audience by drip feeding tiny bits of information on a regular basis. With i...

6 things we learned in our first year as a business

The first year is always the hardest. That’s one thing you’ve definitely heard before; because it’s true. You sacrifice time with family, you let your social life take a back seat and you almost certainly have trouble sleeping when every thought and feeling from the day before is swirling around in your head at 4am. But the point is - it should be this hard because the rewards of building a business are worth the ride. It’s a never-ending rollercoaster of exhilarating ascents, unexpected turns and spiraling nose dives. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. Every day, we get validation from people who love what we do. In our first 12 months, we met some of the most fascinating people on the planet and we easily learned more than we would have in 10 years. Here are six lessons we learned in our first 12 months. 1- Don’t try to be the best Being popular may have been important when you were at school. In business, the opposite is true. When we started, we knew other agencies were o...
